Technical Data - Flammability - Flash-Point Testing
FLASH-POINT TESTING
Flash-point is the minimum temperature at which a liquid gives off vapor in sufficient concentration to form an ignitable mixture with air near the surface of the liquid. The flash-point is normally an indication of susceptibility to ignition.

The true determinant of a low current electrical discharge weapon (Taser) to ignite vapors or residue from a defense spray weapon is the flash-point of the formula. Since it is the vapor of the liquid, not the liquid itself that burns, vapor generation becomes the primary factor in determining a fire hazard.

CQB routinely conducts flash-point testing as a part of quality assurance & quality control proceedures on all formulations. This information is present on all CQB Material Safety Data Sheets prepared in accordance with ANSI Z400.1-1993 MSDS format and are available for downloading from this website.
