		FLAMMABILITY FACTS
		The rising acceptance of Taser® brand energy weapons and the new force applications that have emerged as a result of its widespread popularity require that agencies implementing the use of Taser® take great care to ensure compatability with their current brand of aerosol defense spray.
		It is a misrepresentation of fact that defense spray formulations must either contain water or be water based in order to be non-flammable. Just becasue a particular brand is water-based, DO NOT just assume it is safe for use with a Taser® deployment.
		Agencies should obtain current year MSDS from the defense spray manufacturer with the formulas flash-point cleary stated in the section entitled "Physical Properties". If is is not clearly stated on the MSDS, ask for it. Reputable manufacturers will have MSDS readily available for downloading from their company's website in PDF format for your immediate access.
